Samsung Tab S4 Smart lock Trusted devices not working

Samsung,  I am trying to figure out how to get my Tab S4 to stay unlocked using Smart Lock - Trusted devices using my Samsung Galaxy Watch, my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, or my Samsung S7 Edge.  NONE of them will connect to the Tab S4 for Smart Lock.  I can get the Note 10+ and S7 Edge to connect via BT though.  All I get when trying to connect is:

"Can't add device

Make sure Bluetooth device Note 10+ is on and close enough to connect to this device."

It is on and sitting right next to the Tab S4!

What gives?!

I have exactly the same issue with brand new s7fe tablet

Any solutions to this years later? Same here with my A14 mobile phone....in 2024.
