Hi, this tablet is becoming totally unpredictable in what it is doing and how. If Iam scrolling through a web page, I can be instantly booted out, back to initial search page (NOT because of any inactivity time), Iget a message on screen saying "this app is not valid due to a bad configuration", whatever that means.

Help, please, before I smash this device on the floor!

What browser are you using?

Hi

I have allocated Bing into the front page internet search line (instead of Google), if that is what you mean and that doesn't work now. It did for a long time.

No, I mean what app are you using for the Internet? The Samsung one or another?

Bing is a search engine, not a browser.

You asked me what app I am using and now it seems you have changed the question. What's the difference betwen a search engine and a browser?

Hi again
I would be really grateful if you could define the following terms, so we can at least know we are talking about the same thing..
1. App
2. Search engine
3. Browser
I'm totally baffled with this terminology and NOT any kind of techno expert, so this clarification would really help in terms of making progress.
I hope this explains some of my problem, but I see it as an initial hurdle before we can discuss a way of solving the issues with my tablet

No problem. An app is a program on your tab to do things. Email is for sending mail, as an example. All of those icons you tap on are apps. A browser is an app that accesses the Internet eg Samsung Internet, Firefox, Chrome etc. A search engine can be accessed from a browser. Examples are Google, Bing, Duckduckgo.A search engine helps you find information you require. If that is unclear, please let me know.

I'm going to assume you are using the Samsung Internet app/browser.
Let's see if this helps. Swipe down from the top of your screen and press the cog on the top right. This takes you to the settings page. Scroll down until you see Apps and tap it. Scroll down the page to Samsung Internet and tap it. Scroll down this page to storage and tap on it. In this page clear data and cache. There may be options on both sides of the bottom of the page, if not tap on these to clear.

Next, go to Samsung Store app and check for updates (menu on top left). Lastly, see if you can view webpages without being kicked out.

Thanks for the long reply. This does help. I'll follow your suggestions and see how that goes. I'll report back once that is done. 🤞
