I am looking for a tablet that i will primarily use for reading comics and for productivity tasks (mails, signing docs, writing notes, etc.) and less of watching contents.

With it's size, display and aspect ratio is the Galaxy tab S10 FE an ideal tablet for my tasks? Or would you guys recommend something else different or smaller or cheaper?

I own an S9FE from last year. It is great for the tasks that you mention. I bought the 10.9" size and it is perfect for me in size terms. The s9FE+ would probably be just slightly bigger than i would need.

I take mine to work with me to use as a log book and for meeting notes. With the stylus is achieves these perfectly. In the evenings I read magazines such as readly and occasional books.

It is also great for streaming and I have not seen any limitations.

Just one thing that has pushed its boundaries in ability for processing is when modifying and working with video using Lumafusion. Perhaps this is a little too demanding. I have been able to work it out, but things slow down a bit.

Everything else it does amazingly. The S10FE would be every bit as good and would likely improve on the performance of my S9FE.

I have read that an ideal aspect ratio for reading books and comics is 16:10 which i believe the S9 & S10 FE has. Probably an 11-inch is the absolute biggest size for me; anything more than that would be laptop territory.

My only issue with Samsung tablets are the charging speeds, the 8GB RAM and the price.

Have those issues hindered or affected you prior to or after you purchased your tablets?

i am trialing Tab S10 Plus and Tab A9 from Samsung and as a result of this i have acquired a Tab S9 plus for myself and a Tab S8 base model for my mom, both from EBay and i also played with a Tab S10 Fe at Samsung KX and all i can say they are all great. Tab A9 is a bit slow and is driving me nuts, but for the tasks you want you will be ok with any S, FE series or A series, i expect A9 plus is alittle better than base A9. A9 is good otherwise, just it loads apps a bit slow, but it's price is around £140, the cheapest out there.
Argos have Tab S6 Lite for £200 at the moment.
i am astonished LCD screens look so good, you can't really tell they are LCD anymore, feels very much like LED screens, albeit a little less bright, but i am drawing on the S8 and I like it.
All tablets support SD Card to expand the memory.
For the tasks you want, you don't really need the most expensive tablet, I like the S8 alot.

I have had no issues in this respect. The 8GB RAM does not seem limiting in 90% of uses. Perhaps it might do in high demand tasks such as gaming or complex video processing, but in normal day to day then not at all.

The battery seems to last ages... I only charge it every few days... perhaps even less, depending on my amount of usage.

Recently I did get the latest UI7 update, and this just adds to the features.

One thing with this S9FE is it will unlikely get these latest AI features that are inbuilt into Samsung flagships, although some Google items like 'circle to search' are available. This may be similar with the S10FE, and perhaps one of the differences against the full S10 range.

Two other things in my mind.

- The base model of 128GB was fine for me, especially as it has SD card support for expansion. SD might not be as fast as internal memory, but I saw this as a needless cost.

- the extra for a 5G tablet seems to be a pointless thing for me. The ability to tether a phone for its connection, and avoid the need for another sim contract, makes this a moot point for me. But everyone to their own.

I had an old 2022 Tab S6 and I liked it. But I don't know about the S6 Lite 2024 version if it's any good. I would prefer a very decent chipset (5nm or better) , a bright IPS LCD (or a basic AMOLED) with at least 600nits brightness, 8GB RAM and perhaps 30w battery charging.

Currently, I'm eyeing the Tab S9 FE or an S10 FE. Other are the Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023/24) and the new Redmi Pad 2.

As io mentioned i will mainly be using it primarily to read comics and sign the odd documents. Watching contents, reading and saving PDF files, writing Word documents will only be secondary but will be helpful. I'm not bothered with the AI features too much as i can do most AI tasks within Google apps.
