No worries @Neo001 . Your understanding is correct. The feature’s purpose is to work like the general pinning: to keep a topic of interest easy to find (but in this instance just for that individual user). Pinned topics don't necessarily get quicker or more responses.
There isn’t currently a way to prioritise topics to get quicker responses from all users. (I'm sure that most folks would want all of their topics to have a quick response in any case. 😉) But the on the web browser version of Community, on the homepage there's a 'Community Activity' section that allows all users to view the most recent topics or ones that are unanswered/haven't been replied to yet:

It pins the topic to the top of a board for that user only, and places it below the generally pinned topics, e.g.:

Thank you @AntS. So if my understanding is correct, the topic appears as pinned only for the user who created it? Will it not be more helpful if it is highlighted and is visible as a featured topic for other members - to get quick responses?
