Samsung A33 denied in access control

Hi all! (new on the forum and might possible have posted this in the wrong place. Sorry in that case)

I've recently bought a Samsung A33 and I'm trying to set it up on my wi-fi network. Since I've MAC-address authentication turned on on my network, I need to give the A33 permission to access the network. Here is where things get strange,

I can see the MAC-address as blocked in my Netgear WNDR4500 router.

I can grant it permission, but after a few seconds, the router once again detects the A33 as a blocked device.

If I turn access control off entirely, the A33 connects without any problems at all.

So far I've tried this:

* Updating firmware on router

* Updated the A33 as far as it allows.

* Checked and doubble checked that im using the phones actual MAC-address and not something else.

* I've also tried using the fictive MAC-address that the phoen uses, but to no use.

* At the moment, the phone is without a SIM-card if that might cause anything unwanted.

Any ideas anyone to what this migth be?

I will try to be helpful here, but it sounds like it can be the router from your description? If not I would contact Samsung support and see if they can solve the issue 😊

Thank you for your reply. I think you might be right. Tried switching my master router to another router today (newer, the other one is 10 years old) and then it worked. So even if the fault is an old router, I'm still curious on what it is in the A33 that the Netgear router doesn't like?

I am using the phones hardware MAC, not a ficitve address.

Even if I've connected the hardware MAC to a fixed IP-address in the router, the phone and the hardware MAC gets a new IP-address anyway, and is still blocked.

I've recently connected a Samsung A71 and an iPhone 13 to the router. The A71 connected without any problems and the iPhone needed to turn off fictive MAC in order to work. But after that everything worked. So what has changed with the A33?

There are no known issues with A33 + router, so I would suggest you contact the router´s manufacturer to search further 😊
