Hello,

Since ive installed my new GPU both my Samsung monitors goes black every few minutes. I seem to not be alone with this issue when it comes to AMD GPUs. Ive tried installing the latest firmware for the monitor and got the latest GPU drivers. Anyone knows any soloution to this?

See this topic for more people with the same issue https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/samsung-lounge/looking-for-firmware-update-for-samsung-quot-27-o...

I have the same issue on G85SD. Sort of funnily i experienced the worst flickering in MS Word - simply scrolling would constantly trigger the flicker.

Tried all the usual stuff suggested, though underclocking the frame rate doesn't work here - when "game mode" is enabled, the monitor just doesn't work with less than the standard 175hz.

Disabling VRR (FreeSync) in AMD settings prevents the flicker, but i bought it because of VRR (since with VRR Control it seems to be the only option for QOLED).

Well, long story short, the actual fix i found that seems to have resolved the issue for me is to create a new Custom Resolution in AMD tool, but not with underclocked frame rate, but rather by choosing GTF timing standard (using cheap HDMI 2.1 cable).

Fingers crossed that I won't be back to edit the message saying it didn't work after all..

---

Edit...

Switched the monitor to a new computer with 9070xt, and that trick no longer helped. Tried all kinds of timings, nothing seemed to work, then after so many tries, i managed to get it working properly with DP cable that came with the monitor and CVT-RB timings (the default ), this time made via Custom Resolution Utility (not AMD adrenalin studio).. That seemed to help for a bit and then it went back to blinking.. Losing hope..

Hi, just to let you know I ran into this issue with my 6800XT and Odyssey G5, I had to manually update my refresh rate to 240hz in windows display menu and now the flickering has stopped.

Hope that helps you.
