Hello,

I am the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G. I've bought the phone almost an year ago, brand new from a big electronic shop. The phone is impeccable and has almost never been dropped. I have the latest update installed at the moment.

For the past 2 or 3 days the WI-FI has started acting up. Sometimes, I can not activate the WI-FI at all, it either "turns on" but doesn't in fact activate or I can't even toggle the on button. Other times, which happens mostly, I turn it on and it can't connect to a network or it works for 2 3 minutes and after that it turns itself off. If I turn it back on, I get stuck in a loop of turning it back on every 1 to 3 minutes.

I've tried restarting the phone, shutting it down and leaving it like that for a few minutes, updated to latest version, factory reset. Nothing works.

Has anyone been in this situation and has found a fix? Has anyone fixed it in a repair shop and is it expensive/worth fixing for the price? Or should I simply go ahead and get a new one?

Thanks to everybody beforehand!

Hi Ajay

After days trying to solve the issue with WIFI on the S21 FE, I believe I found the solution. With patience following a youtube video to "dissasembly" the unit in order to find where is the "antenna flex for wifi", I noticed that the connector was not firm. So I adjusted the connection and now it is working fine. That's why a lot of people recommend to hit several times while the unit is turning on and the problem was solved. Maybe when I dropped the phone to the floor the connection became loose. I believe the flex cable is not a good design as it is bent so it is easy to be disconnected. Maybe my comments help another users of S21 or S22 who suffered the same problem. So It is not due to the Android 14 update. It was HW. Thank you

Hallo @Mirel123 ,

Thank you for your message. Have you tried clear the cache memory. See the link below for the instruction.

When this doesn't work you can try to reset the Network settings. See the link below for the instruction.

Can you let me know if it worked?

With kind regards,

Thank you both @Ajay-A and @Jimboo84 for your answers.

Sadly, I'am afraid none of the above worked. I even had the factory reset done. Thank you all for your help!

Thank you for your respone Mirel123,

Do have this issue also with other Wi-Fi networks? If yes, did this happened after an update?

Hello,

Yes, it happens to any network. As for now, it completely went "south", I can not even activate the WI-FI anymore. It seems to me that the only option left is to take it in a Samsung Service. It's still only been an year since I've bought it so hopefully the 2 year insurance will either fix it or replace it.

Best regards

Hi @Mirel123

This certainly doesn't seem right. Looking at the fact that you already tried resetting it etc. and that the device is only a year old, I would advise you to come to one of our Service Points: Samsung Service Centers | Samsung Nederland or let us pick your device up from home, to get it checked out: Reparatieservice | Aanmelden | Samsung Nederland

We're more than happy to help!

Kind regards,

Tessa

I have the same situation from 3 days ago. Of course after the last One UI 6.1 update. I suppose is not a HW issue, is unfortunately some bug with the new update, I see more users with the same problem. I tried all the solutions that Samsung recommend except reinstall all from 0 again.

Hallo @jiuvaro,

Thank you for your message and feedback. Via the Samsung Members-app you can also send in an error report to my colleagues of the R&D department. They can investigate this and when this can be resolved by an update this will be rolled out as soon as possible.

With kind regards,

Ajay
