Hi

Overnight my Galaxy S7 was installing a system update but it gets to 31% and turns off then reboots itself and then repeats the process.

I have tried the following but no change:

  • Power off your smartphone completely by holding Power button.
  • Next, press and hold Volume Down, Home and Power buttons at the same time.
  • Release the buttons when the Warning alert screen is displayed on your phone.
  • Now, press Volume Up to load Galaxy S7 Download Mode.
  • To exit Download Mode press power button down for 10seconds and your device will reboot in normal mode.

As soon as it reboots the process starts again.

HELP PLEASE

Try hooking up to Smartswitch to see if this helps.

If not then try a hard reset although this may wipe your stored personal information.

hardreset. Samsung-galaxy-s7.

A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can take a look.

Hi @Sengendo Simon

A Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋

Do ensure you have enough internal storage to accept the software update.

Try using Wi-Fi if your using Mobile Data to update or visa versa.

And see if SmartSwitch via a Computer updates your phone.

Try Clear Cache Files from the phone's System Partition Section  > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-clear-the-cache-on-my-device/ You may need to insert your earphones or hook upto a powered On Laptop or use a Tv's USB Port to access the Clear Partition Section. This may help with lag or stutters as this clears the phone of old/unused or broken cache files. There is also a Repair Apps option in the Menu System too { Possibly excluding the s²⁴ Series of phone's } To clean up your phone.

If your still experiencing issues then send this as feedback via your Samsung Members App too.

If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask  😎
