Hello, my Samsung galaxy J5 has suddenly stopped charging and comes up with a message along the lines of “please make sure you are using an official Samsung charger or charger is connected properly. Then when it died i tried to charge it but just comes up with a yellow triangle and a line through the battery in the middle of the screen. Can anyone help me? I’ve looked around but can’t seem to find much.

Can you use a torch to see if there is any lint etc in the charging port.
If so remove it carefully but don't use pressurized air.
A Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Centre can run a diagnostic test on the phone.
I assume it's not been dropped or any of the visible water indicators haven't been tripped.

Hello,
i have cleaned out the charging port, it started charging so I left it to charge then about 20 minutes later it randomly stopped again. Before it wouldn’t charge at all which is weird.

Ok.
Perhaps try another charging brick and cord.
If that fails then please think about my advice to see help via Samsung.
