Hello, I had an abnormal factory reset on a Samsung note 8 and now it requires me to log into using an ID that was previously used on the phone.

The phone was used by mum and I but she has no idea on the Samsung ID that was there when she used it.

How can I get to know which Samsung IDs were used on the phone

You may need to contact your Samsung Support Customer Services directly for help @Chrismon

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

It is a theft protection. If someone were to steal your phone, this will make it impossible for them to access your data or use it again after it's been wiped.

Next., I believe it is not a Smasung account but a Google account what is needed.

There are two ways now.

  • go to the Google and search "your mobile device FPR". There are sometimes ways how to cheat the protection.
  • contact a service. You will probably need some proof of ownership
