Unable to move items to Secure Folder

With the new updates I am unable to move items from my gallery to ##SecureFolder in my Galaxy S21 5G. It happened after the latest update. Earlier update stopped#WhatsApp being unable to download contents from Dual App, #Samsung pointed the finger at third party, now with Secure Folder. I am not too sure who to turn to now, I hope Samsung doesn't keep on saying us to use the phone without applications after spending some dollars on their phone, or ask us to reset the phone for something that happens to multiple user

I am experiencing the same issue. I cannot transfer photos from Whatsapp images going to secure folder. Please help

Read some of the latest comments, many of them offer a working solution. Basically create a new folder in your gallery and move the pictures from the WhatsApp folder to that newly created folder. Once they are moved you can select them and move them to the Secure Folder.

Hi Aiah,

I know it is a pain but there is a work around. You can move the photos to another folder then move the photos from that folder to the secure folder. I have tried it and it worked. However, I would like to see Samsung to fix this problem once for all. I don't like to do too many steps.

Further to he above, WhatsApp files are stored in the /Android/ subfolder of My Files, which does not support the moving of files between user locations. With this in mind, if you wish to move a file from WhatsApp to your Secure Folder, please head to My Files > Internal Storage > Android > Media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Select the relevant folder > Press and hold on a file, then tap on any others to highlight them > Move > Navigate back to the My Files landing page > Select an alternative location e.g Downloads, Images, Video etc > Move Here. Once the files have been relocated, you will then be able to move them to your Secure Folder.

Just done the update and found the same problem can't move to secure folder. But you can copy to it

Have just done the update and have the same problem.  But if you select pictures and share one of the options is to copy to secure folder. This seams the only way to move things from apps like WhatsApp. Any pictures you take will move as normal

Take a screenshot of the item/photo you want to send to secure folder then send the screenshot
