Hello, I am unable to make or receive calls have moved towards voLTE, however this has caused my handset to be unable to take or make calls, but can receive data and messages. Thus i have tried to search to through the mobile network and it simply isn't there. But due to my research my model of s9 (G960U) should be compatible and have the option of voLTE here.

That sound great! How would I be able to do so?

Ok, you can start by reading a bit about CSC codes here >>
https://technastic.com/samsung-csc-codes-list/
Try the 2 methods described to find the CSC code for your phone, and let me know what they are?
While you’re in “Software information” have a look what the date is for the “Kernel version?
(Also in “About Phone”, please reconfirm the Model number of your phone?)
Next, to get ready for firmware flashing (assuming you have a Windows PC available) you have to download and install this : “Samsung Android USB Driver for Windows_v1.7.61.exe”
On this page >> https://technastic.com/samsung-usb-driver-download-windows/
Just run the exe to install the drivers.
With the USB drivers ready, next we need the “Odin3B”- program…
This is the file to download : “Odin3 3.14.1 3B PatcheD.zip”
This is the location >> https://technastic.com/odin-download-samsung-latest-all-versions/
Extract the files from this zip into any folder you like and then run the exe to start the program.
Plug in your phone via USB cable to the computer.
On the Odin form the “ID:COM”- window should now show something like: “0:[COM17]”, and
In the Log- window it will also say that Com 17 has been added. (or whatever the comport number is on your computer). This means you are all set to start programming your phone!
Before we do that, you may want to look into how to backup all your data, because it will be all wiped when new firmware is installed.
I just “exported” all my contacts to my SD card and made sure all my photos are also safely stored on the SD card (that will not be affected, just internal memory gets wiped). And I was happy to just re-install all my Apps again afterwards...
Ok, enough for now, next we will download the firmware files for your phone and then flash them onto the phone…

No response from Nelson… I assume he decided against flashing his phone? That’s OK.
For someone that does want to know the final steps, I will (for completeness) cover them here >>
To get the firmware for your phone, go to >> https://samfw.com/
Fill in your phone model number and country or CSC.
Pick the firmware version you want and download.
Note: For most countries there is an “unbranded” version of the firmware that allows you to change between carriers. (Example: For Australia the CSC is XSA).
Unzip the downloaded file to give you the files that Odin will flash to your phone. Just follow the steps on this page >> https://technastic.com/flash-firmware-update-samsung-odin/
A good video that shows the whole process is here >>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuV5-v91IUA
{Only thing he left out in the video was the download and install of the Samsung USB Drivers. Also use SamFw instead of SamMobile to download your firmware. It just works way better.}

Thank you @HJ_E My kids S7 phones are now working again after following your instructions.
Was unable to receive or make calls / texts on the Aldi mobile network, even tried a Telstra sim witch also didn't work in both S7 phones. Followed the above and now working.
Greatly appreciate your advice!!!

Well done Kevo78! Thanks for letting me know.
I also thought my S7 will become trash with the 3G shutdown.
Luckily, with the great help available online, I was able to save it. 😀
So, to pass on the favour, I decided to summarise the process and try to help someone else that has the same problem.
It is great to hear that you were able to save 2 more S7 phones. 👍
They are good little phones, would be such a shame to just dump them.

This is the same issue I'm having right now. I got a US variant of an S23 Ultra. Can't get 5G, can't get VoLTE. It's frustrating. I simply got a a portable 5G WiFi.
