Hello, I am unable to make or receive calls have moved towards voLTE, however this has caused my handset to be unable to take or make calls, but can receive data and messages. Thus i have tried to search to through the mobile network and it simply isn't there. But due to my research my model of s9 (G960U) should be compatible and have the option of voLTE here.

Hi Nelson, I followed your excellent instructions and got my 2 S7's using VoLTE over 4g.
At least the annoying telstra voicebomb has gone away and VoLTE symbol appears in the top status bar. I also have a VoLTE toggle switch in mobile settings now.
I guess well seee after telstra cut 3G.
Many thanks for your admirable work in saving people money and breaking the obscolescence cycle.

Nelson was the original poster of the question, but I was the one that wrote the instructions on how to fix the issue.
If you have 4G and VoLTE selected, you should be ready for the 3G shutdown.
I see that Telstra have changed the 3G shutdown- date again to 28 October…
I’m glad you found the instructions helpful. 😊

Hi HJ_E,
You are a lifesaver. I can't express enough my thanks for your instructions. Although not a techie by any standards, I (eventually) did everything required. Man, I did a little dance when it finally finished rebooting, and I have the VoLTE symbol, no annoying voice prompts, and an S7 that is fully functional. Built in obsolescence is one of my pet hates. Next time you're in Queensland, I'll buy you a beer!
Well done!!!!!
I guess Nelson deserves some credit, by asking the question that you provided the answers for, and helped many people. But you the man!

Hi Wilgarasam,
Well done on saving another S7. 👍
I thought my S7 was a goner too, but thanks to websites like Technastic and SamFw I was able to save it. (After some reading and figuring the whole process out…)
So I reckoned, let’s pass on the favour and help some more guys to fix their phones… I’m so glad I did that! 😊

Wondering what firmware image you used as ive tried both the TEL and OPS versions G935FXXU8EVG3 seems to be the latest for my S7 G935F build date 20220802123751 from samfw.com and i cant seem to get the option for volte to come up , using Aldi mobile on the telstra network , thanks .

Did you try the VAU version? That is what I used. The build date for that G935FXXU8EVG3 (for your model) is 20220802135031. I am also with ALDI. I didn't get the toggle switch for VoLTE, but the symbol is there, and no voice prompts before connecting a call. Toggle switch would be redundant after 28/10 anyway!
Hope that helps.
Btw, the Technastic instructions to get into download mode are wrong. It is (from memory) Vol Up/Pwr/Home buttons. They say just Vol Up/Dwn.

XSA – Unbranded firmware (Australia) is my preference.
Unfortunately, although it is an option for the SM–G930F, it seems to be missing for the SM–G935F on SamFw? However, you can get it on SamMobile.

That is very odd. Upon reflection, I'm sure I used XSA as well. Maybe the SM-9350F doesn't have the edge (pardon the pun)?

LOL 🤣

Yes CSC XSA version works for VoLTE all good now , S7 edge lives a little longer yay ! , i managed to find it on another site , yea as you say there's no XSA version on Samfw and the OPS and TEL versions dont have VoLTE option . i ended up getting it from here ... https://samfrew.com/firmware/model/SM-G935F/region/XSA/upload/Desc/0/10 , but its a very slow download 2hrs for a 2.4gb file , just for anyone else looking for it .
