Software update UI 6.1 killed touchscreen on my S21 ultra

After installing the latest update on my s21 ultra Tuesday morning it has completely killed the touch screen on my phone making it completely unusable. 

After trouble shooting online I took it into the store so they could use a Bluetooth mouse to back up my data to another .device.

Since I am out of warranty I've been told the only way they will fix it is with a chargeable repair and quoted me £300.

I find this completely unacceptable from samsung as they have essentially uploaded a virus to my phone then told me tough luck when I want it fixed.

EDIT: My phone was a refurbished phone which possibly had a new screen on it. Most people seem to that the update has problems with some non-samsung screens causing it to become unresponsive although there are a few people with new phones and screens experiencing the same issue.

It seems the only way to resolve it is by paying for a new screen (if you're outside of warranty) or installing the old 6.0 firmware (which will void your warranty). There is tutorials on YouTube or XDA forums if anyone wants to have a go.

I just posted that I had the same issue with a brand new factory sealed phone.  Luckily the phone had a 30 day return guarantee and I sent it back labeling it as defective.  I purchased another identical phone and I think it's probably wise to do the same and NOT update to 6.1. 

Question:  Is your S21 working fine with just the 6.0 update?  Someone mentioned that not updating to 6.1 is a safety issue, but it seems the update is just for more "bells and whistles" and increased functionality.

I was having trouble downloading the right program on my computer so I haven't been able to do it and my phone is still bricked.
It seems the people who have figured it out are still able to use there's though.

It also seems updating the phone is a bit of a safety issue too so it's lose/lose 😂

And you have to know that my screen is original one not changed

Has anyone tried to take legal action against Samsung?

I read on another post about someone talking to his lawyers and being told he wouldn't get too far but apart from that I'm really not sure

I'm not sure why Samsung are making out it's third party apps when it's clearly them my a53 is pity much unstable now and Samsung are doing 💩 about it might just get a new phone won't be taking Samsung products again they are a complete joke
