Hey guys,

So I got my new S20+ And its great!

There is only one problem which makes me want to lose the phone... the is no aux, not a problem because we got the cables usb-c to aux... only, it does not work.

When connecting it, it makes a click sound like it works. Then it actually doesn't play any audio.

I tried to connect it to my car, did not work. Tried to connect to some regular earbuds and a studio headphone those worked. But since I get my buds+ soon I couldn't care for those thing, I want to listen music in my car via aux.

Why isn't my 1300 euros phone not allowing me to play some music in my car?

Thanks in common!

The problem with USB-C DAC devices was also present on the S10.

I tried to use a Dragonfly Cobalt with the S10 and had the constant pops and crackles.  As others have said the USB Audio Player Pro app is a godsend as it allows you to bypass the 'faulty' USB connection of the Samsung handset.

I'm currently trying the IFI-Audio Hip-Dac on the S20 Ultra and as others have said the problem still exists.

Poor show on a supposed high end product.  Don't get me wrong I'm happy with the phone overall but this is really shoddy from Samsung when you consider the issues has been present for over 12 months on 2 models of handsets.  Makes me wonder if this is more than a software glitch and more hardware related.

Yes that's correct. The one I tried had a DAC but said not supported.

Thanks McCol, very useful info. Interesting that the S10 had the same problem. I agree with your last paragraph. Regards Bob.

No. This simply means that the lead does not have an inbuilt dac.

If the manufacturers put as much effort into the audio as they do in the camera it would be so brilliant!

What lead?
For the external Dac?

I dont know if you were replying to me or not but it shouldn't make a difference.
I can plug the same audio devices into a range of android and ios phones and not have the same issue.
Its poor design or a fault in the hardware.

exactly

I purchased a new one that specifically stated S20 and it worked great (cost about $15 vs $3)

In addition I saw a listing of one that specifically referenced Note10 and asked and was told...should work. Did not take the chance.
