Hi Lovely People.
Maybe not for everyone but definitely try it if you can afford to do it.
I would highly recommend a Factory Reset and manually installing your apps back after you have updated to one UI 5.1.
The phone is so buttery smooth on Adaptive refresh and either fhd+ or wqhd.
Do back up your contacts, photos etc.

Bit extreme isn't, having a update doesn't make the phone worse than what it was before you applied. Waste of time

Unless you have issues with the phone, I wouldn't recommend doing a Factory Reset.

Sharing my experience. As stated in my post may be not for everyone. But for me it felt brilliant .

My S21 Ultra does feel faster in OneUI 5.1 without factory resetting

@GoanGeek I am with you on this one.
In a previous update between android 11 and 12 i had performed a factory reset and it made the phone a completely different experience. I was having a few problems at the time and it resolved all issues for me.
Honestly I believe with a major update, you can end up with some kind of hybrid build... some old version code and with a software update added over the top. It is not as 'clean' as a completely new reinstall.
It can cause also some app incompatibilities with play store and individual apps. Clean install resolves this.
When I did a previous factory reset it made a massive improvement to android 12 when upgrading.
This latest 5.1 update is of course not a major android update but a Samsung UI update. However I didn't perform the factory a few months ago when android was upgraded.
Although my phone is working just fine at the moment... I will take the time soon enough to do a full clean and factory reset.
It is also a good chance to have a 'spring clean'... install only regularly used apps and have a good clear out. 👍
