@GoanGeek I am with you on this one.
In a previous update between android 11 and 12 i had performed a factory reset and it made the phone a completely different experience. I was having a few problems at the time and it resolved all issues for me.
Honestly I believe with a major update, you can end up with some kind of hybrid build... some old version code and with a software update added over the top. It is not as 'clean' as a completely new reinstall.
It can cause also some app incompatibilities with play store and individual apps. Clean install resolves this.
When I did a previous factory reset it made a massive improvement to android 12 when upgrading.
This latest 5.1 update is of course not a major android update but a Samsung UI update. However I didn't perform the factory a few months ago when android was upgraded.
Although my phone is working just fine at the moment... I will take the time soon enough to do a full clean and factory reset.
It is also a good chance to have a 'spring clean'... install only regularly used apps and have a good clear out.
