if you press and hold the app button a pop up will display and it will say disable there if not open settings then apps find the Google message app and disable from there
That's weird. My first set up of S21 would only let you force close this app. Now, as you say it's simple to disable... this phone is making me question my santiy in lots of ways!
Just to advise Samsung told me today that they don't plan to develop their own Messages app any further and we'll have to use Google's eventually. The problem is the Google's remove any Samsung friendly features as soon as it updates! Ow, the irony!
