Night clock apps - screen backlight stays on

HI,

When using night clock apps, the screen stays lit - dimly, but enough to light up a dark room - but all setting within the app and on the display settings say that the screen should be black (no back light - only the clock digits should be visible).

I have tried various alarm/night clock apps, and they are all the same...

Anyone have any ideas?

@Willis1966: Have you tried using the Always On Display (Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Always On Display > On)? This pre-installed feature will show the clock on a black background, and will not illuminate your surroundings if you're in a dark room. Let me know if this helps.

I did try Always On, but the clock is too snall, and is not as customisable as I want (the choice of colours, for example).

In any case, I want an app that has an integrated alarm and night clock display - I have three apps that meet my needs already, but each of them is backlit in Night Mode rather than being a plain black background. Each app is set to plain black background, but the backlight is bright enough to make the clock digits too faint to read...

Mine is the same,the screen doesn't go black it dims alot but still seeing the screensaver. Too much light in the room at night.

The pre installed feature isn't a black background, it's a very dim screensaver picture. How can it be turned black/ no light?

I've done it!Go into AOD ,then it shows the picture of your phone,just under is a toggle 'show lock screen wallpaper'- just switch it off.

My AOD is set to OFF in Settings>AOD, but the issue still remains.
