If you had your device synced with your Google account and/or Samsung Cloud, you can try resyncing from there. Its also a good idea, if you have Smart Switch installed on a pc, to sync the contents of your device with it. You would be able to back up and restore in this way too.

@Gal76: First of all, please check the Contacts app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Recycle Bin, as any deleted contacts will be stored here for 30 days. To restore a contact, press and hold on it, tap 'All' in the top left, then hit Restore at the bottom of the screen.

If your contacts were synced to your Samsung or Google account, then you should be able to restore them to your Galaxy S9 by heading to the Contacts app > Tap the 3 lines in the top left > Manage contacts > Sync contacts > Select the relevant account > Sync now. Alternatively, please explore the Import/export contacts option if the contacts were saved to your internal storage or SIM card.

Literally tried all that and still can't find contacts that were on my previous handset. What has happened?
