Can't have eSIM and SIM2 active together

I have an eSIM and two physical SIMs in my S21+. I can have the eSIM and physical SIM1 active at the same time or both the physical SIMs active at the same time but not the eSIM and physical SIM2 active at the same time. Is this normal? My preference is to be able to have the eSIM active all the time with either SIM1 or SIM2.

Hi @Selwoir ,

The S21 family supports the use of up to 2 nano-SIM cards and also offers eSIM support. Dual SIM can be a combination of 2 physical SIM cards or 1 physical SIM card and an eSIM.

Have you tried to swipe the SIM cards to see if the same thing keep happening with the SIM2 and determine if the issue is with the SIM itself or the SIM card tray?

Yes, I tried that and the issue is with the SIM tray, not the SIM itself.

Thanks for that link. I had looked for ages to find that information but I hadn't come across that, maybe because it is for S22 and I have an S21 but it seems to apply to both.

I have the S23 Ultra and the same applies I think it's a hardware limitation

Is it possible to have two eSIMs and no physical SIMs active at the same time, or is it always only one eSIM at any time?

You can set up multiple eSim profiles. As far as I know, only one eSim can be active at a time.

It happen to me as well. Based on this link, dual sim can only work with SIM 1 and SIM 2/ esim. Not the other way. This experience is not ideal if we are overseas on roaming, as sometimes, we still need to receive SMS OTP to login to certain apps.
