Camera sounds when changing settings

Hi, 

I have a galaxy S21 ultra and I am having a problem disabling sounds when using the camera app.

This is not the shutter sound, as there isn't one at all. It's silent when I take a photo, but when I'm clicking other buttons, such as to change to video or switch camera, or the settings cog etc there's a click or clunk sound and it's very annoying. I would rather have a shutter sound when snapping a photo with no other sounds when I'm navigating the camera app.

Other than lowering the system volume, is there any way of disabling this?

Try going camera settings
And select Silent

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have tried this and unfortunately it doesn't help. There is a clicking noise like a shutter sound each time, even when I open or close the camera app. Every gesture causes the sound

You could try go to settings > sounds and vibration > system sound and toggle off touch interactions and see if that helps.

I've not really needed to silence the camera app when taking a photo personally ,however the best way I've tested is to turn the volume down manually via the volume rocker button.

Hi, there is no sound when taking a photo. There's no shutter sound at all and I can't activate a shutter sound either.

The clunking sound is when I'm navigating the app, changing settings or changing cameras, even opening and closing the app. It sounds like I'm taking dozens of photos when I'm not, I'm just clicking buttons within the app. And when I do take a snap - nothing! No sound.

It should be the other way round, no sounds at all except a shutter sound when snapping a photo.

I have all system sound and other volume down to mute. I even gave a Bixby routine to mute all sounds when opening the camera app, but the clunking sound is still there.

@Rodney5: Please can you double check that 'Touch interactions' is not enabled, as per the post above by @lminvti. With this option disabled, you should find that navigating within the Camera app does not produce any audio feedback.
