Galaxy S20 Ringtone volume keeps setting itself to 100%

My S20 keeps setting itself to 100% ringtone volume. I always have it set at zero/vibrate only. I have searched forums for an answer with no luck. Anyone have an idea about how to fix it? It's an unacceptable problem when I never know my phone is going to blast at full volume in professional and personal settings. And it's just plain startling!

can you send us a screen shot of the sound controls that you have?

also, do you have "Modes & Routines" on your device? you can set a routine or a mode to keep the volume under control in worst case scenario

in routines make a new routine, set it:

If

incoming call > from anyone

then:

sounds mode and volume> ringtone (set it to whatever level you need)

I should probably clarify that sometimes it's fine and then sometimes the ring volume is suddenly full blast. It is a new issue but has happened 5-6 times in the last week and a half. I don't get too many calls but would say that's about 30-50% of the time. This is a shot of its current settings.  I don't seem to have full if/then setting capabilities and the conditions are limited but will play with it a bit more.

According to the image you sent, you seem to have an older version of android and/or the UI. Are you able, or do you have the option to update the system? Or Samsung didn't make that available to s20 series?

Also, you seem to have made the ringer silent. There is a better way to silence it. In the ringtone selector, select silent. 1732681842120.jpg
