Suddenly I discovered that system sounds and notification sounds disappeared after the last update. There is no sound of pressing dialing keys or screen lock clicks. There are absolutely no notification sounds. At the same time, notification sounds are not played in the settings when they are selected. Don’t even try to write to me about the volume level, modes without sounds, etc. What was done:

1. Reset to factory settings - the problem is not resolved.
2. Installing the latest firmware for my phone and region via Odin to the latest version - the problem is not resolved.
3. Installing firmware for a phone for a different region - the problem is not resolved.
4. In safe mode, there are no notification sounds or system sounds.
5. Removing unnecessary programs and services via ADB - the problem has not been resolved.

I also want to note that after each reset to factory settings, everything works for 30 seconds, and the notification sounds that come are the system sounds. Soon they disappear. Before this, there were no problems before the updates. It happened suddenly.
I also want to note that, for example, in WhatsApp in the settings I can select sounds and hear them, they are not played in the phone settings. Third-party sounds are also not played if you download and add them.

The sound of the call, music, video works, checking via *#00*# showed that all speakers are working. The problem is in the software, and Samsung doesn’t want to solve it.

Oh, and I don’t have a watch, Bluetooth headphones or anything else. I repeat, before the updates, EVERYTHING WORKED NORMALLY!

Absolutely right. There is no sound, it appears for 20 seconds if you restart the phone and quickly go to the settings for this item. Then it disappears.

It sounds odd. So the preview works, then stops working quicky after?

Try a different sound (if you haven't already) and see if that remains.

Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is an app or setting which is silencing notification sounds automatically

You don't have a mode or routine set up do you ?

The phone is currently reset to factory settings. There is no authorization in Google or Samsung accounts, and no third-party applications are installed. There is a problem with any sound in the list, including third-party ones, if you download the melody and install it. The problem is software, since everything worked before, the settings were reset and some settings were apparently deleted. The new update did not return them, or returned them incorrectly. And I don’t know what to do.

It sounds a nightmare. I'll keep thinking for any other suggestions to try. I did have a similar problem initially (phone is about 2 months old) and don't remember how I solved it but I think it was just one of the settings already suggested needed changing. It doesn't look like a hardware problem, you're right, it's software, but there may be a solution. Hopefully someone else has an idea too but I'll have a look around too

Can you check you haven't enabled this setting.

Settings >Accessibility >Hearing enhancements >Mute all sounds.

Please note. If you have vibration turned on, you should feel this when trying to play a sound. Is that the case?1717084755492_1717084755480_0.jpg

Has this been solved? This started happening to my phone about a week ago. I did a recent update and it made it worse. At first is was just my text notifications not working, now it is all notification sounds. Same issue. The sounds do not sound when previewed in the menu. When I hook to a Bluetooth speaker, the notifications sound.

I ran diagnostics and both the in-call speaker and media speaker are working. Spotify seems to play through my media speaker still. My alarm and phone calls will still come through but they are only coming through the in-call speaker at a minimum volume, they should be coming through the other speaker.

My job is reliant on me hearing and responding to messages quickly. I've done everything as OP has. Including 3 factory resets with and without backups.

It's extremely frustrating because now certain apps like my Health app isn't even restoring my regular back up data - and it was all for nothing because the issue is still not resolved.

Can we please escalate this to the software developers to figure out why these sounds in the software and being pushed to the in-call speaker ?

We need fixes.

I decided to sell the phone and not suffer any more. I already began to doubt that the problem in my case is not software but hardware. There is no solution. Thank Samsung for everything.

It's the second time I have this same issue. I fizzled with the phone for days the last time. This time I will ask to be called in the future. With the mention, don't buy a Galaxy if being notified is important to you!

You can Reset as much as you like and play with the various settings the specific issue where the sound plays for 30 seconds and stops seems to be the sw cant play sound notification out the phones speaker itself. Connect any Bluetooth speaker and goto the sound settings and select a notification sound it will play on the Bluetooth device fine. But the hell it won't play via the phones speakers. Seems like a sw issue.
