The Samsung Weather App is wrong on one aspect:
Consider Reykjavik. At nights, the main graphic has no sun, the hourly temperature graphics has no sun (but it might have the moon) and the screen is dark blue. This is CORRECT.

Now consider Hammerfest and Longyearbyen, both in Norway. Right now, there is no sun at all, they have 24-hour darkness, because they are above the artic circle. So why does the main graphic show a sun? Why does the hourly temperature graphics have a sun sometimes? And why is the screen light blue indicating daytime? This is WRONG.

This needs correcting so the Weather App behaves correctly for Polar night (24 hour darkness) and Polar day (24 hour light), if a place is above the artic or antarctic circle.

Thanks

Hi @AlgorithmLover

I have asked for this to be moved to a specific thread that allows the Samsung Community Forum Team to pass on your feedback.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thankfully Android 15 actually enforces Edge-to-Edge displays and Insets for all apps meaning that all apps targeted for Android 15 and above will scroll beneath the Status bar 😁👍

I hope this is the norm in One UI 7 for which is Samsung's Android 15.

OneUI needs its own native AppLock feature (not secure folder!)  similar to what some third party apps are doing, and what is available on other phones.

Hey, in samsung calender app, it would be nice to be able to see a compilation at the end of the week/month/year of how many hours we've spent in a specific "type" of event, meaning events marked by colour, or by title. For example, i add my gym classes to the calendar, id like to be able to see at the end of the week/month/year how many hours i've spent in the gym (all event in blue) and subcategory by title of the event.

Yes a native App Lock feature for locking the use of apps behind security and biometrics would be great.

Individual apps such as WhatsApp offer their own App Lock.

App Lock for Samsung One UI was also raised in this linked topic:

Native File Encryption and Decryption for One UI (not Secure Folder) + a Windows / Mac OS app for decryption.

Just like Android file manager app, Solid Explorer, it would be really great if we could fully encrypt any files and whole folders so that the file itself becomes rename and scrambled and a hash file is stored next to it with the encryption data.

This would then mean that encrypted files could be shared between devices and desktop computer and protected behind a password.

Solid Explorer does it well on Android but unfortunately does not provide a basic Windows or Mac OS version of their app to be able to decrypt the files on desktop.

If anyone wants to experience what I'm getting at then check out the app Solid Explorer from the Play store and test out it's file encryption feature.

CryptoMator, EDS and AxCrypt are also influences that could be used.

Enhancements for the One UI "Timer" within the Clock app

1.) Please add a user option to be able to Hide the 'hours' wheel. Hiding the 'hours' would then only display the 'minutes' and 'seconds' which which is useful for users like myself who want expediate their daily life.

2.) Please add a UX user option for a 3D roller wheel which would resembles the 3D effect of the iOS timer when scrolling the number digits.

3.) Please add text colour options for the numbers in the Timer. Gradient colour so that it's a blend of two colours.

4.) Enhance the scrolling friction smoothness more so that even the lightest flick of the finger keeps the roller wheel moving and coming to a very slow stop. This is connected to previously shared feedback on iOS scrolling.

Improve Sticker Maker with Better UI and More Features

I would like to suggest improvements to the sticker creation experience in One UI. Here's how we could make it better:

  1. Accessibility & User Interface:
  • Current process is complex: users need to open an image first, then find and tap the create sticker icon
  • Suggestion: Either create a dedicated Sticker Maker app, or integrate the feature directly into Gallery as a main function
  • This would make sticker creation more straightforward and easier to find
  1. Technical Capabilities:
  • Current auto-cutout function struggles with complex designs
  • Limited editing options after initial cutout
  • Suggestion: Add support for importing PNG files with transparency
  • This would allow for more professional and detailed stickers
  1. Cross-platform Integration:
  • Add ability to export sticker packs to popular messaging apps like Telegram and WhatsApp
  • This would make the stickers more useful as they could be shared across different platforms

These improvements would make the sticker maker more versatile and user-friendly, bringing it up to par with dedicated sticker creation apps while maintaining the convenience of system integration.

Looking forward to seeing these enhancements in future One UI updates.
