Problem transferring to a new child's mobile

I am trying to set up and transfer files to a new mobile for my son. He presently has an A32 and we are moving him to a newer A35.

During the setup process I get stuck at the point where I need to set up a Samsung child account, which seems to be a new 'feature' since we last upgraded.

You can't setup a family group on your account through the Samsung Account web portal, we don't have another Samsung device with One UI 1.6 in order to access via Google credentials (which is how I normally login) and the new mobile consistently refuses to recognise my Samsung account login credentials.

There seems no way to bypass this setup requirement and I have sunk hours into this so far so I am desperate for some help.

Is there any way to get around this or should we return the new Samsung and buy something else?

Hello Simonks,

Unfortunally, without other device running OneUI 6.1 or above you actually can't use Samsung Family accounts. Therefore the child Samsung account is useless for you.

But every Samsung device has 2 accounts – Samsung and Google. So make a fake adult Samsung account for your child and use a child Google account instead.

You can manage all restrictions or time limits through Google Family Link from your phone.
