Samsung DeX - DeXperts Petition to keep it, based upon rumours UI7 will ditch it

Dear Samsung HQ peeps, DeX has and still is for me the most useful of many Samsung features, yes maybe the Community here is not high usage, but Reddit and other forums have a very strong and passionate following.

I hope rumours of DeX being ditched for that horrible Windows Link app are untrue.

So i have listed a few benefits DeX power users will loose, aside from having to carry a laptop around.

The screenshot is an example of my setup, which bridges personal, work, media, smart control and notifications.

Additional Benefits of Samsung DeX Over a Laptop:

Samsung dex isn't being removed. What's being removed is the ability to view Samsung dex on a PC via a usb cable. So monitors and wireless will still work. What won't work is dex on a currently running Windows PC via the dex PC software

I suppose it is all rumours, your comment sounds promising, but my usage case is my ZFOLD4 plugged into a USB monitor and doing it all, no PC software just the ZFOLD4, are you saying that is still good 🙏

Then it means nothing will change for you. You're not even connecting your phone to a windows PC. They're not removing DEX. They're removing the awful windows DEX app.

Yeah, that's should work fine. They're just removing using dex on a currently running windows PC. Using dex directly with a display with no PC involved will still work. Samsung has also said it on their website

I still use one of these badboy docking stations.

I bought it when I had an S8+ phone many years ago, and officially it supports up to the S10 range, but my S21 ultra and S23 ultra have worked flawlessly with it.

It gives those USB interfaces to Keyboard and mouse, HDMI monitor and even had a cooling fan to keep the handset cool.

One of the best investments I made all those years ago... it spends time in my office desk and gives me the desktop experience when I need it.

Of course I have a work laptop for most work, but actually this has got me out of trouble a few times when my corporate laptop had issues and needed to spend some time with IT. Over VPN and cloud I have been able to work from my phone on occasions.

Dex is a unique offering that no other mobile phone companies offer... so I do hope that continues with Samsung phones.

@smiley thank you buddy, recall in the S7 days I wanted this but was not familiar with DeX, but when I went USB C Montiors, bang I was all over it, actually tried to pick up one of these DeX stations but eBay auction was competitive so left it in favour of one wire to do it all.

Thank you @Poque_Poque @arianwen27 yeah i never understood the idea of installing the Windows DeX app, in that case Windows Phone Link was better but still pants.

But why are Samsung pushing people to Windows Link its rubbish, I get it does a mirror plus version of you mobile on your laptop.

So what do I call what I use DeX mobile ?

Yeah they are still available on Ebay. Actually I advised a friend a few weeks ago to buy one in an auction as they wanted a low cost solution for doing basic PC tasks at their home... some basic spreadsheet budget calculations and other simple office tasks, as well as Internet browsing.

They now have a samsung dock rigged up to their living room TV with a wireless USB keyboard and mouse combo... and able to do everything they need with an S23 phone in Dex mode, from the comfort of their couch... rather than buying a chromebook or likewise.

Of course many of the generic USB-C dock with USB and HDMI serve the same purpose. The samsung one though gives a phone stand and cooling fan as well. Although in the fold era, the 'form factor' won't likely fit to the stand... Samsung ultra monblock design works fine.
