My Files doesn't show any files in the DCIM folder

This seems to be the opposite of the problem most people have - if I connect my phone to my computer I can see all my photos in "SD Card\DCIM\Camera" no problem. However, when I run My Files on the phone itself it shows the DCIM folder as empty, although other apps such as Gallery work fine.

Any suggestions?

That's strange, @DaveTheMidge. Which of our phones are you using, and in which folder do your photos reside?

To verify this, please open the Gallery app > Open one of the photos > Click Details > Note the file path listed underneath the photo (where it shows the date).

It's an A33.

Ah, I see, thanks. Just so I'm clear on this, are the photos definitely stored on your microSD card, or are they saved to the Internal storage of your A33?

They're definitely on the SD card. It says so on the picture details, and also i can see them if I connect to the computer, and another also - they're definitley not in the DCIM folder in the internal storage. Ooh, and another, I checked my camera settings too. Thanks for looking into this. 🙂

Also, I can see all the other files and folders on my SD card, just not in DCIM.

Thanks for checking. If you go to My Files > Click the three-dot menu on the top right to open Settings > Permissions...which Permissions are showing for you, please, @DaveTheMidge?

Perfect, thanks. Yes, all clear. 👍 Does My Files show your other files that are stored on the microSD card? Additionally, if you power off your phone, remove and then reinsert the card, are you able to see the DCIM folder again?

I can see all the other files, see reply above. I ve tried power cycling, that doesn't help. I will try removing the SD but it will have to be tomorrow- I'm a Brit and I'm settling in for the evening now 😁
