Lock Screen suddenly asks for Password (always used fingerprint or pattern before)

I have this problem too (13)

I have been using the lock screen pattern for a little over a year now and I always remembered it so it was no biggie. Today, literally out of nowhere, my phone asks me to enter a password. I have no idea why it asked me this, so I tried entering a variety of passwords. All it does is lock the phone for 30 seconds before I can try entering another password once I've had too many tries.

I have no idea what password it wants from me, I only have so many and I tried all of them. It says: "Use password after restart (before I restarted it said Use password to unlock screen), Your password contains at least 4 characters, including at least 1 letter." What password?! See, that's why I hate installing updates, this is just bull*****. I also tried to unlock my phone using Find My Phone and it does not work as it is not connected to the network (I tried restarting it before and I guess that screwed me now). I honestly don't even know if a factory reset would work at this stage, since it does not show any notifications either (apart from:  Phone restarted, Unlock your phone to get app notifications).

Did anyone run into the same problem as I did and find a solution? I honestly don't want to try a factory reset (and I don't really think it's gonna work anyway since it's not showing any incoming notifications, either and I can't let my phone ring using Find My Phone).

This seems to be a major issue as I use my phone for work and can't log into the various accounts now as it is a two step verification...

When you first set up your Samsung phone you are required to make this password if you wanted to use a four digit PIN or fingerprint or face id, if you did not choose to do fingerprint face ID or a four digit PIN or a pattern recognition then you did not set up a password for your phone.

If at any time you wanted to have fingerprint ID or face ID or a four digit PIN or four digit pattern to draw on the screen if you wanted any one of those you were required to create the password that is being asked of you.

If you're being asked for that password you absolutely at one time or another wanted to have fingerprint, face id, pattern swipe, or four digit PIN to quickly access your desktop on your phone. You absolutely did that at some point in time, there is no arguing that point, you absolutely did that at one time

If you never did that, then it is impossible to be asked for the phone password with at least four numbers and one letter, it would be impossible.

These are indisputable facts.

You're lucky with that long without it randomly asking you for the password.

There are certain situations where a Samsung will ask you for your device password, one situation is when you set up your fingerprint or your pattern entry or face recognition entry, you have to answer in your device password and that is the password that you created when you first got the phone. You have to have created that password otherwise you would not be able to use your phone you never would have unable to set up the account. It is not the password of your Google account that your phone uses. Those are two different passwords.

What is your main Google account and the other is your device entry. Again in order to be able to use the unlock pattern, the fingerprint entry or face recognition entry, you have to first have set up a password for the device.

Unless you prior when setting up advice had put in a one-time retrieval method just in case you forgot that password, you're screwed. You're going to have to factory reset your phone and start all over again, you won't lose any of your Google data, but local things like phone contacts unless you back to them up and use your Google account for their creation it didn't store anything directly on the phone, any photos you decided to store directly on the device, those will probably all disappear.

Anything other than that means it's a stone phone.

You don't. You have to reset factory reset your phone.  Remember you have to use the same Google account that you originally set up your phone with, because if you don't, it will be tagged as a stolen phone.

You understand what passwords and instructions mean? It means your password has to contain at least four numbers and at least one letter, it can be in any combination it could be one letter and four numbers it could be two letters and three numbers it can be three letters and 20 numbers it can be 80 letters and three numbers can be whatever the hell you want it to me but it has to at least be that and it can also be special characters doesn't have to be letters and or numbers but you have to have a minimum of four numbers and a minimum of one letter and some quite a lot of special characters are available as well, that's what password creation means.

It's only a Samsung issue in that the device requires the PW in order to enter the phone.

The only choice is the factory reset and then of course use the same Google account you originally set up the phone with if you want any of your.
