@Flow73: It should be available in the Apps menu:
Swipe up from your Home screen and tap on the Settings icon (cog symbol) > Apps > Scroll down to find Upday > Tap 'Disable' at the bottom of the screen.
You can also head to Settings > Home screen > Add media page to Home screen, and toggle this option off.

Then it came up on the front of my phone Upday and it said turn off Notifications so I did. I am hoping it works and I don't receive more adds.

Upday is a news aggregation app that comes pre-installed on some Samsung smartphones. If you no longer want to use Upday, you can follow these steps to remove it from your device:
-
Go to your device's home screen and find the Upday app.
-
Press and hold the Upday app icon until the options menu appears.
-
Tap on "Uninstall" or "Remove" and then confirm your choice.
-
The Upday app will be uninstalled from your device.
If the Upday app cannot be uninstalled or removed, you can disable it by following these steps:
-
Go to your device's "Settings" app.
-
Tap on "Apps" or "Application Manager."
-
Scroll down and find the Upday app.
-
Tap on the Upday app and then tap on "Disable."
-
The Upday app will be disabled and will no longer appear on your device's home screen or use system resources.
Note that disabling the Upday app may not free up any storage space on your device, but it will prevent the app from running in the background and using system resources.

Would anyone at Samsung be reading this and kindly offering us a solution? Can't find the app anywhere on my tablet to delete or disactivate it. A totally miserable ***** that pops up every time when opening a new browser window: "We care about your privacy" rubbish, you don't care at all! Samsung is about to lose another customer as I'm now considering an IPad Pro.

AndrewL, none of the solutions to disable UPDAY on my Galaxy A40 work - it's still there and active. I know I can't delete it because it is embedded, but there MUST be a way to allow users the option to stop it appearing when you scroll right on the Home screen?
