Gallery and samsung music playlist empty

Hi 

My z fold 5 screen cracked and sent it in for repair. Carried out a Google backup and samsung backup. However when phone was returned after screen repair noticed my phone had been factory reset. Restored my phone by signing into Google and samsung but this has not restored my samung gallery folders and pictures and my music has not been restored in samsung music. Does factory reset mean I cannot get any of my gallery folder structures back ?? Is the only way to restore my gallery to restore through Google drive??

Hi, and welcome to the community

Were you synching the gallery to Microsoft OneDrive? If so, check its recycle bin.

Check Google Photos, too, as you may have a backup there.

I see my pictures and vids in Google photos but again the restore has not recovered anything to my local samsung gallery. No folders and no pictures or vids.

Did you try my suggestion of Microsoft OneDrive? You only have 30 days until the recycle bin is totally wiped. If they are in there, then you need to check ASAP.

I have never used One Drive. I used Google to backup my files. As mentioned my pictures/vids is available on Google photos however the pics/vids/music is not available on my local phone storage

The photos app only backs up the pictures, you'll need to download them to have them in your samsung gallery again. Onedrive on the other hand has samsung gallery integration so even if photos are only in the cloud you can still view them in the gallery.

You can't really rely on the Google backup to do a full backup of your device, the best option is to use samsung smart switch either on a computer or on your phone to an external storage device.

Makes sense so guessing there i no way restoring all folders that I had and only way to have pictured in gallery would be to re download them from Google photos.

Any idea if I can restore my downloaded music that I use to play using samsung music?

Under accounts and backup, I used the samsung cloud backup feature and Google drive backup feature hoping it would backup my full phone

You're stuffed then. You'll have to xfer everything over from Google manually. With regards to music, I don't think Samsung backup does your music files.
Going forward, the best method I've found is using Samsung Smartswitch to create a full backup.
