Samsung Gallery-created albums not visible in Google Photo Picker

Hello,

When using the Google Photo Picker, albums created in the Samsung Gallery app are not appearing in the album list. Is there a way to make these albums visible in the Photo Picker?

We would appreciate any guidance or clarification on how to ensure that albums created via the Samsung Gallery are included in the list of selectable albums through the Photo Picker interface.

They are two separate apps, so albums are managed differently and separately

I don't think you see albums created in Gallery in Google Photos either

I don't think albums created in Samsung gallery are put into separate folders. They are like a virtual folder and the photos actually remain in there original folder.

Through ADB inspection, I verified that the Samsung Gallery app creates albums as actual directories within the sdcard/DCIM directory on the device’s file system.

Due to the policy outlined here, our app is required to use the system photo picker. However, some of our users organize their photos into albums using the Samsung Gallery app, so we need a solution to ensure those albums can be accessed through the photo picker.
