@CFRF: It is possible to block applications from accessing the Camera on your device. To do so, please head to Settings > Apps > Select the relevant app > Permissions > Camera > Don't allow

The microphone access block toggle is there but there's one missing for the camera.
If you use any other brand that uses Android you will have this option. except on Samsung

@CFRF: Which device are using, and what is the current Android version? These details can be found in Settings > About phone, with the Android version visible in 'Software information'.
I have just tested this on a device running Android 15 / One UI 7 and, when opening the Camera app and swiping from the top of the screen to the bottom to open the Quick Panel, I was able to tap on the green camera icon in the top right (to indicate that the camera is in use), tap on 'Being used by camera', and this took me to the Permissions for the app.
If you can't see a green camera icon in the top right of the Quick Panel, then please can you confirm which app you are using at the time, as it may be the case that this app does not have access to the camera, or currently does not have permission to use it. You can check this by heading to Settings > Apps > Select the relevant app > Permissions > Camera.

I mean a quick function and not block on apps individually
That's for the microphone, I toggle that and the microphone goes off completely .
This same function is missing for the camera .
I normally block access to the camera and microphone when I'm not using it but on this phone I can't .

To me this function on a phone is imperative and a must have .
Basically it is a privacy function that Samsung is taking away from the device owners for no apparent reason..
Would be nice to to see this function on my phone anytime soon.

Open your quick settings, press the pen, press edit, look at the bottom list of buttons. It's probably in there

Just checked with my a14, it doesn't have the camera option. What phone are you on?
As from my limited testing, it seems S series devices have it, A series devices probably don't
