Seal has broken on a SAMSUNG washer less than 6 months old. Advised not under warranty as its a perishable, would not expect it to have perished so soon surely.
I paid upwards of £600 now they want me to pay a few hundred of my own money to have to repaired my washing machine is useless as water empties from it flooding my kitchen when the seal has torn.
Surely it should withstand being loaded and uploaded I have had other brands with no issues. SAMSUNG is suppose to be a well made product not at the cheaper end of the market
How many people need to complain before it's taken as a manufacturing fault. My friends have checked online and seen thus is a recurring issue.

Dry rot does not seem to be the problem here. But yes, if you go in the showroom you will see warning pictures around the drum about trapping items. In my case the steel wire holding the rubber seal on the opening damaged the rubber. Not trapped items. In my opinion the rubber is just not durable compared to good quality manufacturers. In fact ,go to show a room and see for yourself, compare the rubber to other makes. Samsung stopped covering the seal under warranty . Could it be their liability is too large? But we have seen stickers and bigger stickers. There is like triage when they try and blame the user. Do not accept vouchers until resolved. Get machine changed to a quality brand by the retailer is my opinion.

I still believe they use substandard rubber seals and that’s why they won’t cover under warranty. They are too big to care unfortunately. I’ll never buy Samsung again, I’d rather go without and that’s any product! The customer service is appalling and they will just continue to rip people off!

Yep, I have same issue.
£829 for Samsung machine and still under the two year warranty.
Samsung don't want to know and I got the repair company to send me the repair quote. £176 quid. Spoke with retailer and they tried to get Samsung to sort but not budging. The retailer and Samsung clearly know there is an issue. Purchased on credit card. Has anyone had any luck with a Section 75? I have documented everything so will await official response form retailer before going to Barclaycard.
Don't want to keep paying for seals every few months for the life of the machine.

Yes I got a replacement machine from retailer Siemens much better! in UK most of your statutory claim and civil is with retailer and cc company. Looks like Inherent fault as per everyone else stated. Not durable or fit for purpose. Retailer can refund you, change machine and sort out with their Samsung account manager. I pressed for refund.

Thank you for prompt response.
I have sent a detailed email to the retailer.
I'll let you know how it pans out .

Home legal on home insurance is useful

I contacted my retailer, John Lewis, to be told that Samsung are the only manufacturer who don’t cover seals. Thanks for heads up re house insurance though. I hadn’t considered that. I’m fairly confident the new seal will do the same.

My retailer responsed stating same as Samsung.....
Albeit, they are happy to contribute to part of the repair cost.
My 2 year warranty is still valid but not the point. I won't pay for another seal just for the same to happen. Unless they can prove the new seal part has been upgraded.
Part response below:-
Samsung's manufacturer warranty doesn't include or cover the door seal, which is classed by Samsung as a "consumable part".
The appliance was delivered on May 2022 so this doesn't indicate any inherent fault as if that were the case the door seal wouldn't have worked from the first use and its been coming up to 2 years since this appliance was delivered.

Mine was delivered May 2023 and machine started leaking, so had no choice. It’s a shambles by Samsung! Will never buy from them again. They know exactly what they’re doing, but they’re so big they don’t care.

All the testimonies here and online point to an inherent fault. The stickers they put by the seal ( not durable ) . And the change to consumable. Is it not 6-7 years to make a claim. See durability in consumer protection.
