Material quality issue?

Hi

I recently had an issue where the rubber seal deteriorated over a few weeks. Resulting in little grey pieces of rubber in the wash.
Slow deterioration of the seal. We were washing at nowhere near the max weight allowed.

Machine was 4 years old, purchased November 2019.   After 2 years it developed a fault that required a replacement stabilisation strut. Not covered by samsung.
Machine finally gave up resulting in a water leak and metal shards in the wash. The drum had sharp edges exposed resulting in damaged clothing.
Purchased a new machine, so decided to dismantle the old. this is what i found:
the drum had ripped from its three fixing points resulting in a detachment of the drum.
metal drum appears to be no more than a few mm thick. Is this a case of poor quality materials?

I would have expected better quality materials considering the price of the appliance.

It was a shame.
on a plus note, it was very therapeutic dismantling the machine. Plus i now have a firepit!

This is a common issue with Samsung washing machine. Struggling at the moment to get Currys or Samsung to take responsibility. My machine is 6 months old. My consumer rights are with Currys, keep being fobbed off and being sent from one team to another. The issue was on bbc Watchdog. I now desperately need my washing machine so I'm going to pay to repair and take out a small court claim against Currys.
