I have the Samsung Bespoke refrigerator RF12BB8600QL
We had a paper back calendar on the door held on by magnets. We were careful on placing the magnets inside the calendar and not touching the doors. We then noticed that there were scratches on the stainless steel doors on each of the corners of the calendar. We can't believe paper would scratch the doors, this is very upsetting.
I've been told from the store we purchased this unit from that this was cosmetic and is not covered under the warranty. My next steps is to contact Samsung, but from the other posts I'm not expecting much luck.
While researching this issue, I found the following:
A major issue reported by users with the Samsung Bespoke stainless steel refrigerator doors is that they scratch very easily, with many complaints about the surface being prone to visible scratches even with careful handling, often due to the perceived lower quality of the stainless steel used on the customizable panels; this can significantly impact the aesthetics of the fridge over time
Key points about this issue:
Surface quality:
The primary concern is that the stainless steel finish on the Bespoke doors is not as robust as on other stainless steel appliances, making it more susceptible to scratches from everyday use
1/13/25 update: After speaking to a Samsung representative, the scratches are cosmetic or as they put it they're physical damage and not covered under the warranty. The retailer who sold it said the same and they can buff it out for $275. Again, these are scratches from a paper back calendar. I can't believe the metal used is that thin and sensitive. If so, the stainless steel should have a protective coating on it.
Great fridge, but I would NOT purchase or recommend the stainless steel version.
