Seal has broken on a SAMSUNG washer less than 6 months old. Advised not under warranty as its a perishable, would not expect it to have perished so soon surely.
I paid upwards of £600 now they want me to pay a few hundred of my own money to have to repaired my washing machine is useless as water empties from it flooding my kitchen when the seal has torn.
Surely it should withstand being loaded and uploaded I have had other brands with no issues. SAMSUNG is suppose to be a well made product not at the cheaper end of the market
How many people need to complain before it's taken as a manufacturing fault. My friends have checked online and seen thus is a recurring issue.

I bought Samsung washer dryer (WD80TA046BE/EU 8KG/5KG Eco bubble on 5th June 2024 for £499 from Argos and yesterday discovered a piece missing from the door seal it's start leaking from door seal. The tear was in a similar area on this photo
. Such expensive machines don't have door seals fit for purpose I emailed Samsung and waiting for a reply.

Absolute joke isn't it. Ive had various washer over the years and none had failed at the seal.
I wouldnt be such an issue of you could replace the seal without dismantling the washing machine.
Samsungs position/response on this has been poor and due to that has tarnished my view on them forever.

I find it strange that the seal I paid for as Samsung refused to replace it for free has now been ok for over 12 months. They clearly know their original seals are substandard and unfortunately due to their name and size of business get away with it. I’ll never buy anything Samsung again, id rather go without! Abhorrent way to run a business!

😫 guys this has happened to me. 9 weeks in to me having my new washer and it's done this defect. I'm so upset because Currys are saying its Samsungs issue & Samsungs saying its my issue. I had a Hotpoint for 9 years without any problems until the motor broke around New Year. I thought id try a more upmarket brand because they looked nicer but I feel conned and let down. I'm a single mum of a 7 year old so within that 9 weeks my washer hasn't had much usage let alone wear and tear. I've been told by Samsung that they'll send a engineer out to repair it but at a cost to me and I've read thats somewhere between 100-200 so a washer that cost me £550 has now 9 weeks later gone up to £750 or thereabouts. What if it happens again too 😢 I can't keep paying out 200 every few months

All these images show the exact same tear in the exact same place if this was a zip bra or object stuck surely there would be other marks around the washing machine. The fact this was mentioned on Watchdog and their still pleading ignorance is a real cheek. They clearly don't care about customer satisfaction or take pride in their products

If your washing machine is 9 weeks old, Currys have to give you a refund under the consumer rights act. I bought mine from Samsung.com so sent them the below email in response to them lying to me about me having to pay for a repair once before I can get a refund. They refunded me after the below email. The rules are a bit different if you've owned the machine for more than 6 months.
Try using a version of the below email and send it to Currys. I am sure they will refund you.
"This is unacceptable. There is nothing in the Consumer Rights Act that describes me paying for a repair once. In a period of 30 days to 6 months I must give you, the retailer one opportunity to repair or replace it before I can claim a refund. I am giving you an opportunity to replace it or repair it. I do not have to pay for the repair. Please choose whether you would like to replace the washing machine or whether you would like to repair it at your cost. I have a right to a refund if any of the following is true:
an attempt at repair or replacement has failed
the cost of the repair or replacement is disproportionate to the value of the goods or digital content
a repair or replacement is impossible
a repair or replacement will cause you significant inconvenience
the repair or replacement will take an unreasonably long amount of time.
In this case the cost of repair is disproportionate to the value of the goods (almost 1/3 of the total cost of the machine just 3 months later). If I discover the fault within the first six months of having the product, it is presumed to have been there since the time I took ownership of it - unless you, the retailer can prove otherwise. If you choose not to replace or repair the machine at your cost, I have the right to a refund.
If you refuse to repair the washing machine at your cost or replace it or process a full refund, I will process a charge back with AMEX who can take up this issue of getting the money back from you themselves and if that fails, I will take this to a small claims court. If you fail to repair this washing machine at your cost, I will also report you to trading standards: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/get-more-help/report-to-trading-standards/. You choose.
Thanks
P.S. Just for your information, there are 150 posts in this forum of people complaining about the same issue: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/home-appliances/washer-seal-fault/td-p/4840142. I had another washing machine for 7 years without any issues prior to this one. It is not an issue with how we use the machine. There is also no tear. And as this washing machine has had only 3 months use, I don't think I should have to pay £185 to get it repaired."

same problem, same place.
