I have just tried to cook a jacket potato using the hotblast  micro combination. I set the micro to 600w and  the hotblast temperature to 200. shortly after starting to cook the oven started to arc. I was using the low rack and upon inspection  it had been burned black in the centre. i tried cooking the potato directly on the rack and also  on a plate, the same thing happened.

After lowering the micro wattage the arcing stopped but the potato was over cooked and not crispy.

Is there a maximum temperature that this setting can be used on.

There should be no arcing at all, that indicates a breakdown in the insulation, get an engineer round.
