Fridge stuck on software update and now is not working

Anyone else have problem with the latest software update on fridge family hub ? 

the fridge is stuck in the loop and after while it come up with error 41, tried to switching off the button on the door and from the power but it’s stuck in the update.

 

the light in the fridge is off and water pitcher is not filling up so it looks like the fridge is completely off, can’t understand how the software update can disable basic function of the fridge ? I get the other settings like pitcher etc but to stop the fridge freezer completely ? What a great idea 

 

called Samsung and was told to switching off for 3h …

 

I wonder if they have released some bogus software which broke my fridge? Anyone else have issues today ?

just got my fridge back running … I had the technician here and he changed the motherboard on the back of the fridge and now is running … still cooling down … not sure how the upgrade  fried the motherboard but now it is running … I will keep an eye o. The temperature

Hi rodattor I’m going to come across a bit dumb here but not very technical minded.. my engineer didn’t know what to do when he came out, reckons he has never seen one before, he phoned his office and then informs me I need a new screen??? Which they are coming out to fit next Wednesday which will then be 2 weeks without my fridge freezer, is the screen & motherboard behind the screen??? As I don’t want them coming out to then say they need a motherboard 😩 I am really losing my patience now, such a nightmare having to live without a fridge/freezer 

so pleased your up and running tho let’s hope I can say the same soon 🙏

Hi Linda ... I can imagine your frustration...we have been ( as a family of 5 ) without fridge and freezer since January 31st 7:30 in the morning ....

I had 2 technicians from 2 different companies suggested by Samsung to come and see the fridge and both of them didn't have clue about what to do ... the good thing was that the second one was open to listen... and we started from all the resources I have done ( also with the help of Sharki9 ) on the web. I have found the way to unlock the tablet from the loop it was in from the upgrade ... it worked and I am pretty sure you can do it by your self ...

look this video and try the 3rd way the guy is explaining ... so the tablet should go back to work no problem ...

mine did but the fridge was still off ... running the diagnostic from the tablet I have seen that the tablet wasn't communicating with the motherboard that you can find on the back of the fridge behind a cover ( I will send you a picture ) 
after that I have contacted again the second technician talked to him and send him pictures about the self diagnosis ... so he decided to order and replace the mother board ...

he came this morning and now everything works perfectly fine

Hi rofattor thank you so much I did the 3rd step which as you said the menu came up, we tried 3 times rebooting but still the software loop kept coming back, so I said to hubby we have nothing to lose let’s try the factory reset!!! Which we did and the screen is all up and running perfectly 😀🙌🏻 which is great, but not the fridge or the freezer, I’m wondering if ours will be a motherboard like yours??? I’m going to phone the company up tomorrow and explain to them that the screen is absolutely fine, and talk them through what your sent me, to see if they can get hold of a motherboard sooner rather than later 🙏 also the Samsung app will not let me change any fridge settings etc even leaving the door open there is no alarm to alert you.

thank you so much tho it’s just so nice not to be stuck in that software loop anymore. I’m still shocked that a software update can fry a motherboard. I will keep you all updated how I get on when I phone them tomorrow

It’s shocking that nobody on Helpdesk knew about this button …

next time I think I will wait couple weeks before I click update just in case 

 

and it looks like I was lucky that my motherboard was not fried
