Hi there
I have an issue with my Samsung RS68N8941SL Fridge Freezer. It started making a loud noise last night (sounded like the fan) and overnight the freezer stopped freezing. The fridge appears to be working ok (cooling to 3 degrees).
I have defrosted the entire unit, cleaned it out, and power cycled it. Still the same issue - loud noise (like a fan) it tends to start and stop a lot. Then it stopped completely. After being on around 3 hours, the fridge was back down to +3 degrees but the freezer was staying at c +16 degrees.
I've had the evaporator fan out, and tested it using a multimeter - seems to be fine and there is nothing obstructing its movement.
Is it correct to assume that the only other thing it could be is the PCB and that it needs replacing? I am happy to order one of these and fit it, if the general consensus is that this will likely rectify the problem, but obviously don't want to do this if it could be something else.
Update on this:
I’m now certain the noise is the evaporator fan rather than anything else - and it sounds like it’s getting an unstable power source as it’s running fast and slow then stopping, but all very noisy. It’s clear and nothing is obstructing its movement.
Many thanks for any info!
