The door glass on my Samsung oven just exploded for no reason. This is a major safety hazard. Very disappointed.

No problem. It would be best to keep in touch with Samsung in your region. I am sure they will provide a reasonable resolution.

Hi AtshaamY

Unfortunately, Samsung Support in Poland has not been as responsive as in the UK . My case has been forwarded to the “appropriate division”, and I have now been asked to be patient without any suggestions.

Samsung, I am sorry, but I will escalate this matter to an EU institution by reporting the appliance as a potentially harmful product via the Consumer Safety Gateway (Safety Gate):

Such cases can take some time to investigate before the relevant team can provide a resolution. I am sorry that you're having to wait for them to get back to you, @jdi1.

THIS IS A Serious Safety Defect !

I am posting here because Samsung's phone support was completely unhelpful and I need this serious safety issue escalated immediately.

On Feb 9th I was sitting in my living room when I heard a loud cracking sound from my kitchen. Upon investigation, I discovered that the glass door on my Samsung oven (Model NV7B45305AK/U4, purchased February 2023) had spontaneously shattered into hundreds of pieces, with sharp tempered glass scattered across my kitchen floor.

The oven was NOT in use at the time

There was NO impact, NO temperature shock, NO misuse of any kind

The oven had not been used for 24 hours

This is a SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD

Samsung's Unacceptable Response: When I called Samsung support, I was told this would likely be classified as "physical damage" and not covered under warranty. This is absolutely unacceptable and factually incorrect.

This is NOT Physical Damage - This is a Manufacturing Defect:

After this incident, I searched Samsung's own community forums and found HUNDREDS of identical complaints:

"Randomly shattered oven glass door"

"Exploding oven glass door"

"Dangerous Defect – Samsung Oven Door inner Glass shattered suddenly"

"Oven door exploded on Christmas eve"

Multiple reports of the same models: NX60A6511SG/AA, NX60A6311SS, and others

These customers describe the EXACT same scenario:

Oven not in use

Loud cracking/exploding sound

No impact or misuse

Glass shattering spontaneously

This is clearly a widespread product defect, NOT user error.

What you're legally obligated to do:

Immediate replacement of the oven door at NO COST - This is a manufacturing defect, not physical damage

Acknowledgment that this is a known safety issue affecting multiple Samsung oven models

Information about what Samsung is doing to address this defect and prevent future incidents

Actions for anyone else who has experienced this :

Filed a formal complaint with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) at SaferProducts.gov

Documented all evidence including photos

Saved screenshots of the hundreds of similar complaints on Samsung's forums

Samsung you cannot continue to dismiss these incidents as "physical damage" when your own community forums are filled with identical complaints. This is a serious safety defect that could cause injury, particularly in homes with children or pets.

I expect Samsung to take responsibility for this manufacturing defect and resolve this issue immediately. I will not accept being charged for repairs that are clearly due to a product fault.

To Other Samsung Customers:

If you've experienced this same issue, please:

File a CPSC complaint at SaferProducts.gov

Document everything

Do NOT accept Samsung's "physical damage" classification

Reference the widespread nature of this problem in your communications

I am awaiting Samsung's response. If this is not resolved satisfactorily, I will escalate this matter further through consumer protection channels and legal avenues.

Model: NV7B45305AK/U4

Hi,
Samsung in Poland conducted a deep analysis based on one low-quality picture, and wrote that their very experienced technical team decided that I am lying and damaged the door myself. Would you share Samsung's attitude in other regions?

Ours did the same thing last summer. It was just 3 years old, and for €1,099 I would have expected better quality. I should add that by the time the door shattered, it had stopped closing fully and the internal shelf supports/runners had  become warped out of shape. Is there anyone to help us in the Nordics? This seems to be a design fault that should be dealt with accordingly!

@MickFinn: I'm very sorry to hear that you have experienced this issue with your oven door. I'm confident that a similar process to the UK will be in place in your region to investigate matters such as this, therefore if you let me know which country your based in, then I can point you in the right direction to get the support you need.
