My Eco bubble 9kg model WF90F5E3U4W/EU stopped mid cycle yesterday, rather stupidly I left it on whilst I went out for an hour. The machine was dead nothing lighting up and still full of water, the fuse was intact but I could smell that acrid electric fire smell so unplugged and removed the lid. The wiring above and at the back of the control panel has shorted out and damaged the wiring and melted some of the plastics. very lucky as this could have been much worse. Can't see anything about this model having similar incidents. It's logged with Samsung but I think I will end up scrapping it because their time scales for inspection are not good for me.
No more leaving washing machines on whilst out after this.

@Members_2vgW3kD: I'm very sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue with your washing machine. For clarity, have you spoken with our Support Team directly, and an engineer's inspection has been raised? If not, and if you are based in the UK or Ireland, please send a private message to Sam_UK by following the steps in the link below, and myself or one of the other mods will be able to get this escalated for you.

Yes issue raised but not happy with the outcome, first available engineer is 8 days time, I need to sort a replacement so I'm going to count myself as lucky with this one and source a new machine. I thought there would have been some urgency even though the warranty has expired and I have spent thousands with the brand in the past few years but it appears loyalty counts for nothing in this new era we are in.

@Members_2vgW3kD: I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. We take matters of customer safety very seriously, however the delay with the inspection may be the result of a lack of engineer availability in your area. Have you spoken with our Product Liaison Team regarding this matter?

I've already been in contact but they don't know the situation with the engineers, I just want to know if there's likely to be a goodwill gesture for a replacement if so I can wait on an engineer but if not then I'm not prepared to wait if it's just for samsung's benefit. to me this looks like it may not be isolated with the source at the factory fitted wiring cable securing tie. I did email them back with the engineer situation but no reply so far.

Engineer inspected today and its the plastic piece above the board that has dropped onto the heat sink and caused the issue, the cable hasn't rubbed through but has been damaged by the heat from the plastic so very lucky it wasn't much worse. The engineer hasn't come across this issue before.
