Broken plastic part on inside of machine door. Any advise?

I have a Samsung Eco Bubble washing machine model WW10H9600EW 

Recently I did a wash load and on emptying the washer found a small piece of plastic in my laundry. On closer inspection I can see that type plastic has broken off from the inside front top left of the machine between the drum and the door seal. My best guess is that this helps guide water into the drum. 

Can anyone advise what this part is and the impact of it having broken off?

I’m curious if the machine will still perform as normal without it, or else if this is a replaceable part I can get an engineer out to fix.
