ZFOLD4 - Goes PIP, main screen dies

While I was typing a message yesterday with my screen unfolded, a sharp PIP sound came from the device and then it appeared to die, after screen taps, buttons presses I realised I was still connected to my car via Bluetooth, after a few attempts to connect to the car with a USB C cable finally the front screen came to life, but as soon as I unfold screens go dead.

I then started to run the Diagnostic tools that came up with so many errors, even wifi, bt all dead.

I decided to transfer everything to a spare ZFlip3, leaving the ZFold4 screen closed, after a few hours it was all done via USB C cable.

After a few attempts, the same with the ZFold4, even when the PIP sounded again, I decided to book in for repair and wiped the device, but the issue remained.

I learnt this time to just leave the transfer process alone and resist interfering to speed things up, as it resulted in nearly everything as before, except of course quite a few logins.

Managed to catch the error in a video, just hoping the Repair Centre are better than when my ZFold3 had a similar fault (the main screen failed, and required a soft reset every time).

Hoping it is a loose ribbon cable easy fix.

Mine did this to they had to replace the inside screen

Hoping so really hating the Flip so small and I can't do slab phones anymore.

Thanks my friend, yes I suspect removing the screen means a no screen also and no doubt the ribbon cable.

Phone just collected by DPD, receipt says it is en route to Likewize Repair - Phone and tablet repairs wherever you are

Quick and VERY POSITIVE update so far, light years apart from the experience nearly 2 years ago with my ZFold3, TMT First was the repair centre for that, which was 8 weeks of tumbleweed, zero information during and after, the device returned with the same fault !!!

LikeWize Repairs / Samsung are really on the ball, with quick pickup, and a regular step-by-step alert on the status 👏

So I got a response back saying they discovered a scuff (minor and occurred 9 months ago) on the corner of the mobile, it has been determined that your device is not covered by Samsung Warranty due to impact damage.

£320 please, whilst I have £369.36 on the upgrade program

I ended up very reluctantly paying the £340 to repair, on a positive note a super quick service, within a week hopefully door to door fixed and returned.

The bad taste it has left though, is the first step that appears to be to get out of classifying it as a warranty repair, but beyond that for me why have all these fancy claims about how robust a device is to abuse and then say you accept none ???

Note mine was a light scuff to the corner 9 months ago.
