My ZFOLD6 is making me think I should have waited for an S25 Ultra

So about two weeks into the ZFOLD6 and a key change for me vs the ZFOLD4 is i use the outer screen allot more than the main inner screen. I reckon if I was brave enough to go commando and caseless the outer screen would be even better.

Oddly I find the main inner screen a bit to big 🤔 and the outer display just right, even with a cover in place.

So is Samsung in danger of reverting folders back to slabs 😳 ?

What are your thoughts?

I found a few images for comparison as measurements are not a clear cut win.

Maybe in a sense,I found the main inner screen fine for me though on Test Device (never had a Fold before though)

Interesting, I do feel the ZFOLD6 could have squeezed another 3 or 4mm on the sides, totally shames my old iPad Mini 4 which I loved as a glorified tech remote.

I think one of the reasons I'm drawn to the Fold ⁶ Special Edition is because the outer screen is just that bit bigger to make a difference @Obsydian 

When I had the Fold³ I used any excuse to unfold the phone to use the multi tasking on the innerscreen. 

Going ' naked ' with any phone presents it's obvious risks, however I'm reminded how good my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra feels in the hand without case when I'm giving the phone a clean. 

I've even tinkered with a dBrand skin instead of a case 🤔 

Samsung are too invested at this time in my opinion of course with Folds and Flips especially with other manufacturers putting their models into circulation. 

As for the Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra have a play with one in an Experience Store or Highstreet Network Store to see how you feel. 

I have the s²⁴ Ultra which is basically the same apart from the soc and rounded corners.

Just a few days to evaluate, but i found the Fold6 Inner screen aspect ratio was a bit too square.

Obviously 7.6" corner to corner, but once a movie was played it was only little bigger than my ultra and with quite some large black bars area. It is possible to zoom a little but then you lose screen aspect from it's intended 16:9.

It did certainly come into its own with magazine reading (i use readly), Web browsing is great, and YouTube etc. I was just a little disappointed with the viewable screen.

I did find at places like work I was a little too lazy to unfold the inner screen, and used the outer.

I actually found the outer a good size for simple tasks and a quick WhatsApp message. It is a good size for a one handed use.

I came from the ZFOLD3, then ZFOLD4, skipped the 5, went for the 6, all very iterative improvements, best to always skip 1 or 2 GENs.

Would have love the SE for the camera, major let down vs the ZFOLD4.

I enjoyed my time with the Fold 6 but after a while found the concept of the larger screen to be a bit of a gimmick. For the most part I used the outer screen.

I also think the ratio of the device was too thin. Preferred my S24 Ultra for that.

I'm hearing that the camera set up will be almost identical on the S25 Ultra compared to the S24 Ultra. It is well documented that I (and @Glenntech) feel the S24 Ultra cameras have been a disappointment overall and Samsung have neither acknowledged nor addressed the issues and that will likely mean I won't move for the S25 Ultra.

(I might be tempted with a Slim Edition though) 🫠

I love the idea of the Fold 6 and whenever I see someone using one I think the shape and style of it looks so cool. I use a 24ultra, maybe in a couple years I'll make the switch too!

I might need to go commando again for a fair comparison, as I lived costly and dangerously with my ZFOLD4 even after a repair, but I avoided it so far as the ZFOLD6 outer screen cover piece is very flimsy when in place and Reddit some horror stories of a top edge split, expensive.
