The Galaxy Z Flip is automatically switching off while folding the phone. Its been  7 months since I've bought the phone. I bought the phone in india and using in australia.

There is no impact on the phone before this happened i.e didn't drop the phone or in water.

I have also tried resetting the phone but didn't work.

Please help

You should get it replaced, it's only 4 months old. That's how my issue was resolved.

This had now started happening to me. The phone froze after I put it on charge and would not switch back on until I removed the charger. Since that time, any time I close my Flip 4 (not even all the way) and it is not on charge, it will switch off. It's weird how it doesn't when it's connected to a charger, but I can't keep my phone on charge all the time to deal with this.
I had a small cluster of dead pixles appear at the fold of my screen just the day before this, so I'm curious as to whether it is connected [I have not done anything to cause any damage to my phone e.g., water damage/ dropped it, other than use it].
The thing is, my Flip 4 is now 16 months old.. based on everyone elses experience, it doesn't look like Samsung has found a resolution to this.

I have a galaxy z flip 3 that I bought and still paying on that just started shutting off as soon as I begin to close it. It started a couple of days ago. If I leave my phone open,  it's ok for the most part.  It still shuts off randomly when I don't use it for awhile.  I haven't checked about getting it fixed yet because I have had my phone since Nov of 2022.

I had the same issue. In the Philippines we get a cr*ppy deal with warrenty - only 1 year! Thanks for nothing Samsung. My flip4 started turning off when folded literally 1 year after I got it. Samsungs service quoted 25k+ Pesos to fix it! I'm not going to bother since it's possible it will just happen again in another year. I've been using Samsung phones for many years but this will be my last one ever. I'll switch to Motorola or perehaps a Pixel next.

I've got a Flip5 and it's started turning off. It will also lose all of its charge in an instant when it does this.

I’m in the UK, and my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (only 9 months old) has started shutting off unexpectedly when folded. There’s no battery issue, and the device hasn’t suffered any recent drops or physical damage. The only notable change was a series of Android updates from different regions (USA, England, and Africa) within a few weeks due to my frequent travel.

Initially, the phone worked fine, but now it won’t turn on when fully opened or closed. Strangely, it only powers on when folded at a 40–80-degree angle—but using it halfway folded is extremely inconvenient.

Additionally, when the phone turns on, it briefly displays an incorrect date and time (June 02, 15:29) before correcting itself. Please help.
