Hi,
I purchased Samsung Z fold on 29 October 2022 and still in warranty.
Last week my phone started issue with internal display screen with Octa/line lcd always and the Service technician is asking me to pay 2976 SAR to fix this issue.
In repair description they mentioned physical damage where as there is no such damage apart from scratchs on the side border that too near the power button area.
The support also mentioned physical scractches on the screen whereas there is no single scratch on both internal and outside screen.
Samsung service technician is saying the side border (Metal area) has hard dents and this is out of warranty.
Do you guys really see any hard dents on the edges?
This really raises more concerns on the post sales support and i am sure Samsunng is aware of this known issue.
Kindly suggest how to proceed with this case as spending $1700 on new phone and paying additional $793 for repairing LCS screen while in warranty is not acceptable.

Previously i got my phone repaired under warranty for free that was in july...now the exact same thing happened a crack in the centre and my phone is no more under warranty...time for oppo n3 fold

Hello everyone, my csreen did not crack however I can't unfold it to the full screen. If I do that it will power down and the only way to turn it back on is to charge it. Even if it's a 100% charge. I've been fighting with samsung for at least two weeks now. First they told me that if i send it back to be repaired i would have to do a hold on my account for $1100. I could shipped them my phone and they will repair it. But i had to take it to a nearby shop to see if they could repair it here first. I did just that the local shop said it was a motherboard issue and they could not repair it and for me to send it to samsung. I called samsung told them what happen at the local shop they sent me to. Samsung sent me a box and shipping label to send my phone to them using UPS. I had a seven days from the date i recieved my shipping label and box to return it to them. Sunday January 14 I shipped my phone off to them. I got a email on that Tuesday the 16th stating they recieved my phone. I got another email today saying they are shipping my phone back to me unfixed with No explanation as to why. When i called i was on the phone for at least 20 minutes before i was told it was because i never took it to the local shop for them to diagnose. It has to be a way to get some of our money back. Im still paying for a phone that don't work to it's full capabilities and I had to buy a temporary phone until they fix mine. Also I have the Z FOLD 4

My phone has just done the same thing and my internal screen is completely non responsive will be interested to see what Samsung say as they have the worst customer c

I have the exact same problem. OP's pictures look just like my phone. It started with screen protector coming loose and bubbling, then the black area on the inner screen along the hinges. Screen is unresponsive. I am out of warranty, so Samsung store said $500 to repair. This is one of the most expensive phones on the market. I will not buy another Samsung.

I'm having the same issue now if u don't have Samsung care they will just say lol scratch or anything is physical damage and you gotta pay out of pocket spoke with them and they said Samsung policy.is if there is any mark on the phone it void warrenty which I think is the biggest scam . You pay 2400 for a phone and because u didn't get Samsung care they going not fix your phone
Excuses is warn paint on the phone - void
Scratch - void
Small mark - void
So pretty much there 1 year warranty is nonsense

Unbelievable how bad Samsung's customer service is. I had the same exact issue with my phone described here: https://youtu.be/-VsVM6FsPcA . Hopefully enough people can be warned or Samsung can step up their support and product quality !!

My Fold 4 screen has a cracked down the middle twice, just from regular use. The 1st time was in February 2023, and the 2nd was March 2024. On each occasion, Samsung told me that it was my problem. Luckily, I had insurance, but it still cost $210 CAD on each occasion, and I was without my phone for 10-14 days. Clearly the folding screen does not work. The next time it cracks, I will throw it away and buy an S24.
