"call" icon in messaging app opens phone app

How can I make the "call" icon in the messaging app make the call right away?

now, when I click the call icon, it opens the phone app then i have to click call from there.

Yeah, that's what it does.

If you want a direct call feature, use a widget.

You can also do via EDGE app

My Note10+ and the Fold 2 didnt do that

@zaboo: Please can you confirm your model number and current Android version, located in Settings > About phone? Having checked the Messages app on Android 12, you should be able to select a message or conversation, tap the drop down next to the contacts name at the top of the screen, then tap the phone symbol in the top right corner to automatically call the contact.
