My contacts have always shown my 'favorite' contacts at the top of the list. This makes it easy to quickly get to the only 5 or 6 people I actually care about :smiling-face:

After updating yesterday, it now lists 'Recently Added' contacts above the 'Favorites'. I very much do not want this! I can't see how to sort it though...any help is appreciated.  I want to keep using the Samsung contacts list, but definitely will not if I can't fix this 😮

Contacts

Three dots

View by storage location

Google (worked for me, you may use another, but try them each and see which works, I tried by phone and there were no favorites, for me)

In settings, turn off Google Contacts Sync...go back to phone contacts and you will not see you google contacts there...then go back and click sync in Google Contacts....this works.

Right.  Mine looks like that too.  I want to see my favorite contacts first.  How can we get Samsung to unfix this mess?

Nope. It's not getting rid of the Recently Added list, and its not moving the Favorite Contacts back to the top.

This is a TERRIBLE "solution" because when contacts are transferred to "phone," they are no longer linked to any cloud backup and if your phone breaks during this time, you will lose all of those contacts.

An actual possible solution, which worked for me, is to tap the three dots (menu button) on the top right, hit "view by storage location," select "phone" and then switch it right back to my Google account. It took a minute but, my favorite contacts reappeared at the top.

Overall this update has been garbage. I've had so many issues.. I HATE the change in the drop down menu(s) now that they've split the quick access buttons from the notification drop down, the issues with favorite contacts, my phone is suddenly making noises when I tap on things, and my custom icon graphics don't work fully anymore.

Sucks that we're forced into these updates no matter how long we attempt to delay them, your phone will just restart on its own at the worst time.. I'm so irritated with Samsung.

The top "solution" is trash. For this reason:

This worked! Thank goodness I only had 3 recently added.

Thanks so much. Its ridiculously clunky to have to do this...but it worked. Hopefully Samsung will sort this out soon.
