My contacts have always shown my 'favorite' contacts at the top of the list. This makes it easy to quickly get to the only 5 or 6 people I actually care about :smiling-face:

After updating yesterday, it now lists 'Recently Added' contacts above the 'Favorites'. I very much do not want this! I can't see how to sort it though...any help is appreciated.  I want to keep using the Samsung contacts list, but definitely will not if I can't fix this 😮

None of the instructions here worked. But I found the solution: After the update. 1)  When on the 'contacts' page, you will see listed first your profile, then your recents.  2)  Click on each one of your contacts and open it as if you're going to contact them (but don't).  3) Click on the back < at the top.  4) Repeat this for each contact. 5) These contacts will still be on your phone but the app moves them OFF the recently added list as your FAVORITES will move up under your profile.  NOTE: This will occur every time you add a NEW contact. You'll need to use/open once so the recently added doesn't begin to take over your first seen favorite listing.  Your welcome!

The contacts was good until the new update messed it up with "Recently added". At least they should have given the option to remove recently added.

At last found solution for this.

Go to contacts> three dots on top> contacts settings> more settings heading> unselect show third party options. Now the recently added disappears.

Go out of contacts, close it and come back in.

Please let me know if it works for you guys. This worked for me.

I have found the solution. Check to your original query. The solution by Brandon does not work.

I had the same issue and came to this page wanting an answer. I got to page 3 and nothing seemed to help.

I "Force Stop" the app in the management section of my device settings. Then open my contacts again and it fixed it, the list is back to normal now.

This is not a solution. How can we unmark this as it flags this thread as solved?

I solved it this way:

Contact settings > Image and Profile > Refresh Contact list.

For some reason that did it...

Yes just opening these and going back one by one fixes this and removes these contacts one by one
